Organizational Status: International organization, founded in 1965.

General Description: INTAL was created in 1965 pursuant to an agreement between the Inter.-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Government of Argentina. From the institutional standpoint, INTAL is part of the IDB Integration and Regional Programs Department. Throughout 40 years the Institute has carried out research work, provided technical assistance to governments and institutions at the academic and business levels and training in support of the regional integration and cooperation processes. Its general objective is to promote and consolidate Latin American and Caribbean integration at the sub-regional, regional, inter-regional, hemispheric and international levels.
