Organizational Status: Independent NGO, founded in 1992.

General Description: FPC aims to contribute, on a technical level, to the improvement of public policy to prevent and control crime in Chile. Its main areas of activity are analysis (periodic diagnosis of the patterns of crime in Chile, compilation of pertinent material on national and foreign cases, and so on), meetings and exchanges with specialists and institutions, and circulation of information (publication of articles, books, and other relevant materials; organization of special courses aimed at people and institutions related to public security, and so on). FPC has a strong relationship with the media, increasing the likelihood of success for the projects undertaken and enhancing the possibility of influencing both social leaders and public opinion.
