Organizational Status: Governmental institute, founded in 1986.

General Description: NCEMA is a training and policy research institute whose primary mandate is to provide post-experience training to managers in the public sector in the area of national economic management. Accordingly, NCEMA designs and delivers training courses that meet the specific training needs and skill requirements of senior officers in economic planning and management at the federal, state, and local government levels. In addition, NCEMA undertakes in-depth policy research and consultancy services with a view to enhancing the quality of its training programs and providing input into public policy formulation and implementation. Research output is disseminated through conferences and seminars and various publications, including communiqu-s, policy memoranda, monographs, books, training and research news, and journals. The mission of NCEMA is to develop a critical mass of competent managers for the efficient and effective management of the Nigerian economy through training and research.
