Organizational Status: Independent institute, founded in 1974.

General Description: FPI was founded to study issues related to Turkish foreign policy and international relations. Over the past 30 years, it has enlarged its activities to cover international strategic and security issues. FPI, closely affiliated to the Foundation for International Relations and Strategic Studies, publishes a quarterly periodical, manuscripts, bulletins, and works written by its researchers. In its work, FPI closely cooperates with various Turkish universities and foreign institutions and has organized more than 250 conferences of an academic or political nature in Turkey and abroad.
