This study defines the concept of a "Cultural Capital" --a city which not only has the capabilities of a capital, but which also accumulates, creates and exchanges information on all areas of culture. The two volumes contain three chapters, namely, "Theories of a Cultural Capital," "A Survey of Cultural Capacities of Major Cities of the World," and the report of the international seminar called "Cultural Capitals."
