Abstract:
This research is focused on the years 1965 to 1974 when Japan exhibited peak prosperity within the socioeconomic realm. Events such as the drafting of the " Principles of Urban Policy," the "New Comprehensive National Development Plan," "A Proposal for the Remodeling of the Japanese Archipelago," and the establishment of the National Land Agency took place over these ten years. Based on the statements of eleven specialists who were involved in the planning process and policy-making of these projects, this publication presents the oral history of this period. This is an important record illustrating how post-War national land policies were formed.
